It's Not Yours!
For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. 1 Chronicles 29:14 ESV
Every thing that we have belongs to him. Our life, earthly treasures, our children and our spouses, all belong to Him!
I know, we're tripping cause we actually believe that these things were acquired solely by our own merits. But check it, "for all that is in heaven and on Earth is yours. Yours is the Kingdom and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all."- 1 Chronicles 29:11-12
Well, there you have it. It's not ours! I like to call them loaners. We are given these things freely and for a time and with an upright heart we must offer them back through our caring and giving. Release the grip! Open your hand and your heart! Wow, how pleased would the Father be if we did that freely and often!
Don't try to store up treasures here on Earth that don't even belong to you. Lay them up for yourself in heaven. Think about what's valuable in God's economy: Treating people right, forgiveness and loyalty.
