Drawing Back

Remember the story of how God rescues Lot and his wife from Sodom and they were told not to look back but his wife was disobedient, looked back, and became a pillar of salt?
There is something to be said about looking back or drawing back. It's not merely to reflect or to evaluate your progress, but looking back with longing, pining for the things that you left behind once you decided to follow Christ is quite different.
Instead of being fully engaged in surviving, Lot's wife placed a higher priority on looking back, morning for a lesser life than the one that was in front of her. A greater life given to her through God's gift of protection.
Isn't it just like us! We tend to be like lot's wife! God is leading us to a greater future, he has an awesome vision for our life and what do we do repeatedly, "look back", wishing we still had this or that. We lose our job, maybe God has a better one lined up for us yet we wish we still had that job. We put a lot of energy into thinking how good it was, how we were wrongly let go, ect. We lose our home or car yet we pine over it, not looking ahead to see the bigger and better home, the more reliable car that God has for us!
Enough! Let's stop looking back! When we look back in this way it is considered a serious sin! It is outright rebellion folks because we are rejecting God's word and despising his promise.
Let's look ahead!
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."-Psalm 121:1-4
Let's concentrate our attention going forward because the stakes are too high and the fulfillment of his promise, is oh so great!
I love ya'll for real!
