Dress for Success!
We all like to dress up and look good right? I know I do. Some of us would even call ourselves "fashionistas". We know all the hot trends, try to keep up with what's hot and what's not, and will even spend our last dime on getting that new hot shoe, sneaker, dress, jacket etc.
Now that's what we put on in the natural, but do we ever stop to think of what we put on daily in the spiritual? For instance, we get up, shower ourselves with the body wash of anger, lotion our bodies up with wrath, put on our undergarments of malice, our outfit of slander and spray ourselves with perfume or Cologne of obscene talk right?
However if we say we are God's chosen ones, this is how we should get up and dress up each and every day:
Put on your stockings or socks of meekness, a camisole of compassion, a blouse of kindness, pants or skirt of patients and a hat of humility and to tie the whole outfit together, a belt of love. Put on your shoes and walk in the path that God has uniquely created just for you, giving thanks and praise to Him every step of the way!
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."-Ephesians 6:13-17
