Preach the Word!
I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. It's one thing to read the word and another to know it well enough to preach it! Not everyone who opens a Bible and start talking is preaching the word.
Always be ready to preach the word. Be ready when it's easy and when it's hard. Some people like to preach to folk that already know God. But how about preaching to those who don't know him, those that have forgotten about him. That's when you have to preach! Out of season, when it's out of fashion, when it's not popular!
When you preach the word just don't preach the things that are pretty, fluffy, and nice, but preached the whole word. It's great to be motivational but keep it real! Some that preach the word tend to focus on tickling our ears but never tell us about the consequences of our actions, or what will happen if we don't heed the word of God.
Will this win you a popularity contest? Maybe, maybe not, but hang in there. Fight the good fight. Know that you will face fear, insecurities, criticism, discouragement, and yes sin. But be encouraged! You are a winner of the word and if you stay the course and endure, you shall wear a crown that will last forever!
