Direction

Back in the day when we needed to go somewhere new and unfamiliar, we would print out directions or if we really want to take it way back, we used to write down our directions or get a good old map! Well, well, well, how times have changed! Now, we just type or speak a location or the name of some place into this thing called a GPS and walah, takes us right there!

But way, way back in da day, we were given directions by the Holy Spirit, (the GPS of that time and today). Directions that help us to navigate our sinful nature of wanting to go and do whatever we want to regardless of consequence! That GPS guides us to love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Our GPS,(the sinful nature), leads us to sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outburst of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, just to name a few!

The word is clear, “anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” So, which GPS do you want to follow, the Spirits or your sin nature? We should ask ourselves this, do we want to live free or in slavery because we were called to live in freedom, but of course the choice is always up to us, right!
